Winner! presented by Beth

As pet owners, we often hear of irresponsible breeding and its contribution to the numbers of puppies found in animal shelters. What we rarely hear emphasized, however, is that the majority of older puppies and adult dogs who enter rescue facilities are discarded because of behavioral problems and owner frustration. Dogs who chew the furniture, dump neighborhood trash cans, dig up the landscaping, soil the house, show aggression toward other dogs or people—the uncontrolled more than the uncontrollable—are found in abundance at any shelter. Through our commitment to offer simple and comprehensible behavioral training, we hope to assist Arkansans in combating this national epidemic.
Pet Country is pleased to offer training classes with Beth Bearden. Beth has been training dogs professionally since 1997, after many years of amateur training, behavioral study, and avid research into canine psychology and behavior. She has worked with over eighty breeds, with a total of approximately 1150 individual dogs. In addition to her primary focus on companion obedience, Beth has trained dogs to do scent detection, tracking, agility, conformation, competitive obedience, carting and drafting, retrieving, trick performance, backpacking, dog-assisted therapy, and many other activities. She was also the first trainer in Arkansas to be certified by the American Kennel Club as an evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen program. In addition, she provides training, temperament testing, and aggression analysis for the Humane Society of Faulkner County.
Beth uses a combination of positive training techniques, behavior shaping, environmental manipulation, non-confrontational leadership establishment, and bonding exercises. In addition to teaching basic obedience commands, we will discuss such topics as canine nutrition, replacement behaviors, home health exams, socialization, communication techniques, training tools, canine body language, and problem solving. While we do not give refunds on obedience classes, we do guarantee results. If you follow our training plan and are not satisfied with your results, you may repeat the course at no additional charge.
At Pet Country, we
offer puppy and basic obedience classes. Classes are limited to the
first six paid registrants, so sign up early! Of course, we do not
allow dogs with aggression issues in group classes, in order to
ensure the safety of class members and their pets. If you are
dealing with this issue, please contact us for individual
instruction information. In addition to group classes, low-cost
topical seminars are offered periodically. If there is a subject you
would like to see discussed, please let us know.
